PM Assist is the Tenancy Skills Institute’s secure online referral portal that enables property managers to connect households experiencing challenges in their tenancies with targeted support from a local community organisation.
To date, this early intervention referral portal has facilitated the referral of 700+ households, including over 1,500 people on the brink of homelessness, to support with a view to sustaining their tenancies and keeping a roof over their heads.
With client referrals received early via PM Assist, community organisations can explore more options to help these households stabilise their tenancies than would be available if they met these clients further along, when their circumstances had reached a crisis state.
CASA Mackay is one of the community organisations receiving PM Assist early intervention referrals, and since December last year, over 90% of tenancies have been sustained via this referral pathway.
Over the coming days, we will share with you just two of the 700+ stories of tenants who have received support via this early intervention pathway that PM Assist facilitates, and also hear from the CASA Mackay team about the difference our online referral portal is making to the way they deliver support for their community.
We thank all parties for generously sharing their insights as we continue to shine a light on early intervention to prevent homelessness in National Homelessness Week.
