National Sorry Day

26 May 2026
Today is National Sorry Day, a day where inCommunity Inc., and our brands of inCommunity Connect, Tenancy Skills Institute and Beddown, respectfully recognise the sorrow and trauma experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People from the forcible removal of children from their families.

In 2026, it has been almost thirty years since the first National Sorry Day was held on 26 May 1998, one year after the Bringing Them Home report was tabled in Parliament.

As part of our organisation’s commitment to actively reflect on this day, and in the lead-up to and during National Reconciliation Week, we are facilitating an inCommunity Inc. team activity. An opportunity for our team to consider what has occurred since the first National Sorry Day and what our organisation’s contribution can be moving forward.
