A couple of days ago you met Carleen. These are the observations of Kylie Wilkinson, Housing Officer at Mission Australia’s Douglas House and Woree Supported Accommodation Service.
Kylie takes care of all tenancy and property-related matters for the Tenants in both programs. From their arrival to when they emerge from the programs into new tenancies, Kylie works with Tenants to give them practical experience communicating with a Property Manager.
With direct input from the Real Estate Industry into our course content, Property Managers are assured that an applicant or Tenant completing our course has a deeper understanding of what it takes to be rent-ready.
“We recommend the Tenancy Skills Institute courses as part of our onboarding. For many of our Tenants, they have never had a good tenancy, so it is essential they build tenancy skills from the start. The knowledge imparted in the course is correct and really empowers our Tenants to have good communication with me as their Property Manager”.
This sentiment is backed up by Kylie’s colleague, Karen Horn, a Case Worker and Financial Mentor at Mission Australia.
“Clients that participate in the Tenancy Skills Institute course, gain a deeper understanding of their rights and responsibilities, empowering them to navigate the rental market with confidence. I see improved communication when discussing rentals”.
