In 2023-24, 280,000 people were assisted by specialist homelessness services (AIHW). And the proportion of employed people seeking homelessness support increased from 10.9% to 15.3% over the five years to 2022-2023 (AHM).
Here at the Tenancy Skills Institute, we recognise the importance of early intervention in preventing homelessness. By connecting people with targeted support, as needed, and delivering practical ‘how-to’ tenancy education to learn the skills to sustain tenancies and keep a roof over their heads.
With approximately a third of Australians renting, we recognise the value of the community sector and real estate industry working together to create better rental outcomes in this vital early intervention space.
